About the hospital

Children's Hospital of Fudan University was established in 1952. It is a designated implementing institution for the National Children's Medical Center and the National Regional Medical Center for Children, and is a leading institution in China for the diagnosis and treatment of complex and critical pediatric diseases, scientific innovation, and talent development. The hospital has recognized strengths in neonatology, rare pediatric diseases, pediatric hematology and oncology, cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, hepatobiliary and digestive diseases, respiratory medicine, nephrology, endocrinology and genetic metabolic disorders, and infectious diseases and immunology. It provides pediatric care across the full life course, from the fetal period through adolescence. Its technical strengths are reflected in comprehensive treatment of complex congenital heart disease in children, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment of pediatric solid tumors, precision diagnosis and treatment of birth defects and genetic disorders, pediatric minimally invasive surgery and intensive care, as well as a strong research translation platform. The hospital has long ranked among the leading pediatric specialty hospitals in China and has strong referral appeal in the domestic pediatric specialty field. For Chinese patients seeking alternatives to cross-border care, it offers clear value: in the field of complex pediatric diseases, it can provide standardized care pathways aligned with major international children's medical centers. Overall costs are usually significantly lower than treatment at pediatric specialty centers in the United States, Singapore, or Japan, and out-of-pocket and international outpatient waiting times are generally shorter than the full referral cycles at most top overseas children's hospitals.

After our child was diagnosed with pediatric epilepsy, we were very anxious and came to Fudan Children’s Hospital after hearing about it from others. Director Wang was not only highly skilled, but also precisely adjusted our child’s anti-epileptic medication dosage. He was extremely patient and answered all of our questions about daily care in detail. After several months of standard treatment, our child’s condition is now very stable and has had no seizures for six consecutive months. Follow-up EEG results have also basically returned to normal. We sincerely thank Director Wang for his compassion and medical expertise!

My child was diagnosed with pediatric asthma, so I specifically booked an appointment with a specialist at Fudan Children’s Hospital. The doctor not only made an extremely accurate diagnosis, but also was very patient and thorough, explaining daily care and medication precautions in detail. After recent standardized treatment, my child’s wheezing symptoms have been significantly relieved, and the latest follow-up examination showed that all lung function indicators have returned to normal. We are very grateful for the doctor’s excellent medical expertise, which has completely put us, as parents, at ease!

Last month, our child was diagnosed with pediatric tic disorder. Frequent eye blinking and throat clearing made us very anxious. We booked an appointment with a specialist in pediatric neurology at Fudan University Children’s Hospital. The doctor was not only highly skilled and identified the cause at a glance, but also extremely patient, carefully answering all of our concerns. After more than a month of medication and psychological counseling, our child’s symptoms have now improved significantly and all indicators have returned to normal. We are truly grateful for the doctor’s attentive diagnosis and treatment!

Our baby was diagnosed at birth with a congenital heart defect, specifically a ventricular septal defect, and underwent minimally invasive repair in the Department of Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery at Fudan. Dr. Li's surgical skill was excellent, and the incision was very small. Recovery after surgery was especially fast. During the hospital stay, the doctors and nurses were very attentive and gentle, which greatly eased our anxiety. Now, the follow-up echocardiogram after surgery shows that the defect has completely closed, the child's cardiopulmonary function has returned to normal, and weight gain has improved. We are very satisfied!
